Terms of Service

These terms, and agreeing to them

These terms are the agreement between you and grac for your use of grac.social and everything on it. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you don't, please don't use grac. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data and forms part of this agreement.

Who can use GRAC

You must be 18 or over to use grac. The service arranges meetings between adults and we don't offer accounts to children. You also need to be legally able to enter into this agreement, and not barred from the service under any applicable law or by a previous suspension.

Your account

Keep your account details accurate and your sign-in email secure — anything done through your account is treated as done by you. One person, one account. Tell us at info@grac.social if you think someone else has access to it.

Meeting people in person

This is the most important section on this page. grac helps people find each other and agree a plan. We don't organise, supervise, host or vet the activities themselves, and we don't carry out background checks on members. Other members are strangers, and what they tell you about themselves is their claim, not a fact we've verified.

You take part at your own risk and you are responsible for your own safety and for judging whether an activity is suitable for you. Please meet in public places to begin with, tell someone where you're going, and stop if something feels wrong. Report anything concerning to us, and contact the police (999 in an emergency) if you or someone else is at risk.

A reliability score is a rough signal about attendance history. It is not a safety rating and should never be read as one.

Acceptable use

Don't use grac to:

• harass, threaten, bully, stalk, impersonate or discriminate against anyone
• post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence or self-harm
• share anyone else's personal information without their permission
• post content you don't hold the rights to, or that infringes someone else's copyright or trade marks
• advertise, spam, run scams, or recruit for commercial purposes
• scrape, crawl, reverse-engineer or attempt to break the security of the service, or use it to build a competing product
• misuse safety features — including filing false reports or trying to manipulate reliability scores

We may remove content and limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules or that put the community at risk. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why and you can reply to us by email.

Content you post

You keep ownership of everything you post — your messages, photos, activity descriptions and any Legacy recordings you make. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy and display that content only so far as we need to in order to run the service for you and show it to the people you've chosen to share it with. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in routine backups and anything we must keep by law.

We don't use your content to advertise, we don't sell it, and we don't claim any right to publish it more widely. Legacy recordings in particular are downloadable only by you.

Our content and the games

The grac name, logo, software and site content belong to us or our licensors, and nothing here transfers those rights to you.

The arcade includes implementations of well-known card, dice and board games. Many of those games are published commercially and their names and artwork may be trade marks of their publishers. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of those publishers; game names are used only to describe the rules being played. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence.

Paid features

Most of grac is free. Where a feature is paid, the price and what you get are shown before you buy. Payments are handled by Stripe under their own terms — we never see your card details. The total you'll be charged, including any VAT that applies, is shown at checkout before you confirm.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you've paid for; we don't pro-rate part-months unless we've said otherwise.

As a consumer you normally have 14 days to change your mind about an online purchase under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start providing a digital service immediately, that right ends once we've begun. Either way, email info@grac.social and we'll deal with refund requests fairly.

Service availability

We work to keep grac available and reliable, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted access. Features may change, and we may add, alter or withdraw parts of the service as we improve it. If we withdraw something you've paid for, we'll refund the unused part.

Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. If you're a consumer, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 stand whatever these terms say.

Subject to that: grac is provided as it is, and we aren't liable for the conduct of other members, for anything that happens at an activity, or for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable when you started using the service. We aren't liable for business losses — the service is for personal use.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and £100.

Ending this agreement

You can stop using grac and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing info@grac.social. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where we need to in order to protect other members. Sections that by their nature should survive — content licences already granted, liability and governing law — continue to apply afterwards.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top shows the current version, and we'll give you reasonable notice of any change that materially affects your rights. If you don't accept a change, you can close your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your local law and can bring a claim in your local courts.
